Is blogging my scrap booking?

Sushi is just not quite the same...

Let me just tell you, kuddos to those moms who are out there creating blogs and posting about stuff all the time- seriously. I created Two Horned Frogs Abroad in 2012 and it's now very apparent that I had a lot more brain power or band width or something at the time, because good Lord this has taken me a long time to get this thing up and running and sort of looking like I want it to look! I thought I was so clever coming up with Four Frogs in the Fort and was freaking determined to start blogging again. Little did I know it would take me FOREVER to figure all the details out again!

All that to say, here I am again! I'm excited and hope to start blogging on a regular basis. I'll admit, our travels are not quite as exotic as when we lived in Europe, but we have started traveling again, and I find that we often don't catch up with people about our trips and by the time we get home it's kind of all one big blur or something. We're usually so caught up in trying to get back into our routine and rhythm that we forget to think about what we just experienced. I also find myself wanting to share some of the little pieces of life that happen along the way with a 1.5 year old and almost 4 year old, especially for our family- both near and far.

And that's when it dawned on me- I think that blogging is my version of scrap booking or something similar. I won't even say, "As much as I wish I scrap booked" because I have no desire. I really don't care to decorate a book for my kids about every little thing they've done. That sounds terrible, but I'm just not good at it and don't really care to spend my time like that. This is the way I craft our family narrative instead. And H Berry will have to understand that there were a lot of transitions during his first 1.5 years- all of which I will be happy to verbally recount any time he likes.

Okay- so let's see how this goes! I have high hopes, but I also know life goes. When it comes down to choosing to post on the blog or go to bed early so I can get up and workout? Well, the truth is, I'll probably still do both, then I'll be tired the next day. Such is the life of a mom of littles. I hear they start to sleep later when they are teens.

Since we've been back we have been traveling some, but are really starting to pick up some speed now. BK and I recently returned from NYC and Park City a couple weeks before that. We're headed back to NYC for my birthday...and the list goes on.

Fingers crossed- I'll be back soon.
