Peace out Tejas!

Stuff getting done before we disconnect- it's exciting
Ah travel, how I love you so! I mean, the delayed flight is not so great, but sometimes that's just part of it.

We're headed south, and I mean WAY south. BK and I are saying adios to the ridiculously hot days at home and heading to Argentina for a Habitat for Humanity build. Like many others we tell we're going to Argentina, the destination may have caught you off guard. I think people expect us to say "Colorado" or "Galveston" or something more run of the mill for summer vacay. Not so much.

Regarding our long trip to South America...I had someone comment to me the other day that she "had only had two consecutive days away from her kids," and that "you must have a really supportive family." Yes. That is absolutely true. K Bear and H Berry are with Nani and Papa the majority of the time, then with Mawmaw, then Cookie, then Mimi and PopPop. So pretty much everyone gets some time with the littles.

I made my sister, Cookie, nervous today because I stopped by her office at 2:15 and hadn't yet packed for the trip. To be fair, all of our clothes were laid out on the bed and the suitcases open on the floor, but nothing in them quite yet. Sometimes it feels hard to stop other parts of your life and get ready to be out of reach. Don't worry, somehow I managed to shower, pack and take K Bear for a haircut, all by 3:30.

Also, can I just add that the high in Argentina is 50!! Yes, that's right, 50 degrees! It is winter there, after all. The low is 30. I will say, it's a bit hard to wrap your head around packing winter clothes when it is a million degrees outside. Hopefully BK and I got it right and have everything we need.

I hope to post while we're in Argentina to tell the stories of what happened while we were there and keep everyone updated. I always hate when we go weeks without telling people how it was, what we did and how the experienced impacted us. This kind of trip is new for us as a couple, and I'm excited to see what BK thinks.

I hope to update you with posts and pics soon. We land tomorrow morning in Buenos Aires, then have an eight hour bus ride to Bahia Blanca, where we're working. Think good thoughts for the fam and us as we all embark on an adventure!
