Waving bye to BK on Sunday |
First let me start by saying that BK has traveled to India for a 12 day trip. He's only been gone for three-ish days, but I swear it feels like he's been gone for so much longer. I'm sure it has something to do with the fact that he was delayed for five hours and sitting at DFW on Sunday, when he could have been hanging out with us at home. Then subsequently missed his flight in London, arrived in India late, and our times to talk have been all over the place.
Oh Ladybug soccer...if you haven't treated yourself to a three/four-year-old soccer game, you really should. It pretty much consists of a lot of running around the field, some picking of flowers, playing with toys siblings bring to the games and hoping for picture perfect weather- because otherwise the girls are not so keen on playing. Check out the video above and you'll pretty much get the gist of how our games went. We're the ones in yellow and yes that's me yelling for K Bear to get the ball. I do think we got better as the season went on, for what that's worth.

Ladybugs!! |
The Ladybugs were the only all-girl team in the league, and BK often asked me
"How did you guys form this team?" Really what it boils down to is that 10 moms with girls who are in a lot of the same stuff together thought it would be fun to put all the girls on a team together. They'd have fun, right?? Obviously. BK was an Assistant Coach; I told him early on, regardless of what the outcome was, I would pay good money to see him coach 10 four-year-olds. Good times for all.

Celebrating the season with Coach Zach |
Now, they might not have fun playing soccer, but they would have fun together. And they did. We might not have won the most game- or any games, if I'm being honest- but they had a good time together. Especially before and after practices and games and other times outside of soccer. The soccer season has come to a close now, and although the girls are done playing soccer, I'm sure they will continue playing and having fun in other sports, activities and classes together. It's fun to see that happen.
And you know that last post when I said there's this little thing that pulls at us to move away and have another adventure? This is the thing about that- it's stuff like Ladybug soccer that keeps us here. I LOVE that K Bear has this little group of friends that she's starting to grow up with and share things with in life. And I love that K Bear's grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins all came to her games on Saturday mornings. It's a constant weighing of what matters to you in life, and right now, this is it.
