Rocks, lego guys and unicorns
So you know those days when you feel like parenthood and kids exploded all over your house and you wonder what the heck happened? Surprisingly, today is not one of those days. But on the weekends and sometimes when I come home, I seriously feel like a toy bomb when off in our house- and it scattered random kid stuff to every corner of our house. Case in point below- the random rock that STILL sits on my bedside table because, "Rocky wants to sit there." And also the lego guy I found in my decorative paperweight thing on my desk.
Now...I'm a big proponent of pick your battles. So the fact that a random rock, that came from who knows where, takes up space on my bedside table is not really that big of a deal. Hopefully at some point K Bear will put it back outside or move it to her room or something that does not involve my space. But as parents, and really as moms especially, what space do we really have at this point in our littles' lives? Another illustratoin- a piece of cake and some bubbles that were apparently delivered to my bedside.
So stuff like this always makes me laugh and made me start taking pictures of the random stuff I find around the house. It makes me think of the fact that people I used to work with, and swore to that BK and I would never have kids, wonder how we are as parents and what made us change our minds. I like order and all, but kids will take that order and happily turn it upside down. For example, there appears to be a unicorn in our bed below.
But those littles, they have my heart, can create disorder all over the place and make me unproductive as much as they want. Isn't that how it always goes and how it should be?
